Museum Tours

Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam at night

Did you know that Amsterdam has one of the highest museum densities in the world? And they’re all waiting to be explored!

Join one of our art historian guides for a deep-dive into our favorites. We have to first mention the Rijksmuseum, the world-renowned home of Dutch masters including Rembrandt and Vermeer. One of Europe's most famous collections of art and history, this is an essential part of your Amsterdam visit.

Several of the city's biggest exhibitions are within the Museum Square. A  few minutes' walk away from the Rijksmuseum is the incredible Vincent in the Van Gogh Museum, where you can see dozens of paintings from the nineteenth-century visionary. Are you more of a modern or contemporary art lover? Our guides will take you through the Stedelijk Museum, where you'll see some of the 90,000 objects on display.

A short wander away towards the iconic canals sees The Van Loon and Willet Holthuysen museums, exquisitely maintained to represent how an upper-class lived in the Dutch Golden Age. Of course, our guides will be there to provide extra context and information.

And these are just a handful of options – there are an abundance of other places to experience on your Museum Tour.  Please let us know where you wish to visit and we can make it happen.

Want to visit museums privately? We’re delighted to be able to offer exclusive after-hours tours too – just let us know when you inquire.

Dutch Tasting Table

A liquor cabinet of Dutch spirits

Dutch food is far more than fries and stroopwafels. Let us show you the best of the Netherlands' offerings.

Our culinary tours are a great way to get a deeper understanding of local cultures and traditions. Join us on a tasting journey in Amsterdam and beyond – one that goes off the beaten path and delves into the city's underrated food scene. We skip the social media spots and go where locals go.

Enjoy the best cheeses from the countryside, such as the famous Edam and Gouda. Taste fresh oysters from the coastal province of Zeeland. And, of course, be sure to sample the Dutch spirit, Jenever. There's much, much more to enjoy too.

Please let us know in advance if we need to accommodate allergies or dietary restrictions. This walking tour can be completely adjusted to your needs. We can start from any city center hotel, but would advise to start around the canal district to allow for optimal tasting time. Pick up (and drop off) can be arranged on request.

Amsterdam Deep Dive

Amsterdam Red Light District at night

Let’s go beyond the postcard and jump into the real city. This experience is about understanding Amsterdam, not just seeing it at face value.

The Amsterdam Deep Dive is designed for guests who want context, nuance, and narrative – not just highlights. We move beyond the well-known landmarks and burrow further into the city. We'll give you insights into the layered history, architecture, trade routes, social shifts, and cultural undercurrents, all of which have shaped the city into what it is today.

We will explore how the canal belt was engineered, the distinctive waterways becoming the financial machine and backbone of the city. We'll explain how religious tolerance functioned in practice, and what that meant for the inhabitants throughout history. We'll showcase how trade, migration, resistance, art, and innovation blended inside a city built on water – and how it shaped the culture of Amsterdam in the generations to come.

Each Deep Dive is tailored to your preference. Highlights may include:

  • A private canal cruise through the UNESCO-listed canal belt

  • The Jordaan’s transformation from working-class quarter to cultural enclave

  • Hidden courtyards and charitable housing foundations

  • The Red Light District’s economic and social realities

  • The Jewish Cultural Quarter and wartime history

  • Independent galleries, design studios, and artisan makers

  • A taste of the Dutch kitchen

  • And plenty of other options

Nothing is scripted, and every route is customized to your pace and tailored to your curiosity.

Aside from the canal cruise, this is designed as a walking tour, with optional vehicle support upon request. Hotel meet-up included. Fully private experience.
