5. Cookies
metsutours.com uses cookies: small files placed on your device by Squarespace, to run the site itself, and by Google Analytics, to help us understand how visitors use the site. You will be asked to consent to non-essential cookies (such as analytics) when you first visit the site, and you can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings on the site or your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of the site work.
6. Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:
Squarespace, Inc., which hosts this website, processes contact and booking forms, and handles on-site payments, acting as our data processor
Google LLC, which provides Google Analytics, acting as our data processor for analytics purposes
Professional advisors (such as our accountant), where needed to meet our legal and tax obligations
Freelance guides or partners, where relevant, but only the information needed for them to deliver the tour or program you have booked
We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
7. International data transfers
Squarespace and Google are based in the United States. Where your data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we rely on the safeguards these providers put in place, such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, to ensure your data continues to be protected to EU standards.
8. How long we keep your data
We keep your data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for:
Inquiry and contact messages that do not lead to a booking: typically up to 2 years, so we can follow up on trade and corporate relationships
Booking and invoicing records: 7 years, as required under Dutch tax law
Analytics data: retained according to Google Analytics' standard retention settings
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
Request erasure of your data, where applicable
Restrict or object to our processing of your data
Receive your data in a portable format

10. Data security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, and rely on Squarespace's and Google's own security measures for the data they process on our behalf. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data appropriately.
11. Children's privacy
This site and our services are intended for adults arranging travel. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

This policy is written to reflect how metsutours.com currently collects and uses data (Squarespace and Google Analytics only). It should be reviewed and updated whenever new tools are added to the site, such as a payment processor beyond Squarespace's own, a separate booking system, or an email marketing platform. This is a general-purpose template and not a substitute for legal advice; consider having a lawyer review it before publishing, particularly given Metsu's corporate and trade dealings.
